Maurice Carter has been drawing since preschool and made picture books and comics with crayons and construction paper. When he wasn’t doodling or conjuring up stories as a kid, he was racing around on his bike in dry wash beds of Southern California chasing ground squirrels and jackrabbits. Now Maurice is an artist who loves to use ink, texture, and pencil to create images and tell stories. He also works digitally, collecting as many digital brushes as he can.
Maurice has worked on a variety of projects including  package design, storyboards, and picture books. Nowadays, when he isn’t drawing he’s dodging copperheads on woodland trails in North Carolina. If you are ever out in the woods you just might see him hiking through brambles and baby pines. He hopes to someday live in a world with less clogged freeways and more backyard chickens.
